Installation
The KVH eTrac system is designed for simple installation and setup. Simply follow
these steps:
1.
Choose the installation locations (Section 2.1)
2.
Mount the Antenna Unit (Section 2.2)
3.
Wire the eTrac System (Section 2.3)
4.
Download, install, and configure the easyMail application
(Section 2.4)
Plan the entire installation before proceeding! Take into account
component placement, running cable distances between units, and
accessibility to the equipment after installation.
Installation Tools and Materials Required

Electric drill (for flush mounting)

14 AWG shielded, stranded marine cable to connect to ship's power

Shrink wrap sleeves

Wire strippers

Windows-compatible PC or laptop computer and a serial data cable
with DB9 connectors (male to female)

Choosing the Best Location
The eTrac Antenna Unit
The eTrac antenna is designed to be mounted directly on a flat surface.
An optional pole-mounting kit (part number 34-3026-101) and rail-
mounting kit (part number 34-3026-103) are available from KVH.
