Additional Materials Required for eTrac Use
To make full use of your new eTrac system, you will need to provide/purchase the
following:
•
A Windows
Message Terminal
•
14 AWG shielded, stranded marine cable to connect to ship's power
•
Serial data cable (not a null modem cable) with DB9 connectors (male
to female) to connect the computer to the Breakout Box
•
3 M4 screws and washers
•
Additional cables as necessary to connect peripherals to the
Breakout Box
•
Optional - pole-mount kit (part number 34-3026-101)
•
Optional - rail-mount kit (part number 34-3026-103)
•
An Inmarsat-C registration and an Inmarsat mobile number
You must receive a mobile number for your eTrac system from an
Inmarsat Service Provider before eTrac can be configured and
used. Please refer to Section 2.4.1, "Registering eTrac as an MES"
for instructions on applying for and receiving a mobile number. As
this process can take some time, KVH recommends that you submit
your application immediately upon purchasing your eTrac system.
