WARNING:
Always check the chain tension and adjust as
necessary before beginning operation. Refer to Adjusting the
Saw Chain Tension in the Maintenance section.
HOLDING THE UNIT
WARNING:
Always wear eye, hearing, hand, foot and
body protection to reduce the risk of injury when operating
this unit. Wear head protection. Use a full face shield when
needed.
Always grip the unit firmly with both hands when the unit is running.
Hold the shaft grip with the right hand. Keep the right arm
slightly bent.
Hold the handle with the left hand. Keep the left arm straight.
Hold the unit at waist level.
Stand in a stable position with feet apart and firmly planted.
Do not extend arms above shoulder height.
TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
WARNING:
Make sure the chain oil reservoir is full
before operation. Check the oil level constantly so that it
does not drop below half full. Make sure the chain oil
adjustment screw is set appropriately. Refer to Setting the
Chain Oil Adjustment Screw in the Maintenance section.
The saw chain must be continuously coated with oil to
function properly.
Follow all safety instructions. Refer to the Safety section.
Keep your fingers off the throttle control until you are ready to
make a cut.
Keep a firm, steady pressure on the pole saw while cutting. Do
not try to force the saw through the wood.
When carrying the pole saw from one place to another, hold it at
the balance point and keep the guide bar pointed to the rear.
