MW/FM TUNER
OPERATION
Set the Function Selector (1) to the RADIO position.
Select the desired frequency band with the Band Selector (3).
Tune to the desired radio station by turning the Tuning control (6).
Set the Function Selector (1) to the TAPE position to switch the radio off.
ANTENNA
For FM reception there is a built-in FM antenna wire (24) at the rear of the unit. Move the
wire around to obtain the best reception.
For MW reception the signals are picked up through a built-in ferrite antenna. Your may
have to orient the unit to obtain the best reception.
FM & FM-STEREO RECEPTION
Stereo reception is possible when the tuned FM station is broadcasting in stereo.
When in FM STereo mode (3) and the station is broadscasting in Stereo, the FM-ST indicator
(4) lights up.
When FM stations are weak and are disturbed, listening can be improved by switching
the Band selector (3) to FM (Mono). Reception will then be in MONO.
CASSETTE OPERATION
INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF CASSETTES
Open the cassette buttons cover
Press the Stop/Eject (12) Button to open the Cassette Door.
Slip your cassette tape into the holder, with the exposed section downward and the
playback side facing you.
Close the Cassette Door securely before starting.
When finished, press the Stop/Eject button to open the Cassette Door, and retrieve your
cassette tape.
PLAYBACK
Set the FUNCTION Selector (1) to the TAPE position.
Insert your cassette tape.
Press the Play button (15) to active playback.
Use the Pause button (11) whenever you want to suspend playback.
Press the Stop/Eject button (12) to stop playback.

This unit has Automatic Level Control circuitry. This means that the recording level is
set automatically. The volume control will not affect the recording.
Record Key will not be pressed down when the record prevention tab is broken or
removed from the tape.
Set the Function Selector (1) to the RADIO position.
Tune in your station and put in your cassette tape.
Press the Record Key (16) and the Play Key (15) at the same time to start recording.
Press the Stop/Eject Key (12) when finished.
Set the Function Selector (1) to the CD position and insert a disc and close
CD compartment.
Press the Pause key (11) then press the Record Key (16) and the Play Key (15) at the
same time.
Press the CD Play / Pause button (18) and immediatly repress the Pause key (11).
To stop recording, press the Stop button (7) of the CD player. Then press the Stop / Eject
(12) button of the cassette deck.
To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the centre of the case and lift the
disc out, holding it carefully by the edges.
Fingerprints and dust should be carefully wiped off the disc's recorded surface with a
soft cloth. Unlike conventional records, compact discs have no grooves to collect dust
and microscopic debris so gently wiping with a soft cloth should remove most particles.
Wipe in a straight line from the inside to the outside of the disc. Small dust particles and
light stains will have absolutely no effect on reproduction quality.
Never use chemicals such as record sprays, antistatic sprays, benzine, or thinners to
