Noise is caused by FLASH STEAM.
Refer to explanation in Hot Water
Physics section.
Check for:
Mineral build up on the heating unit
loop - replace heating unit.
Poor quality water supply i.e. dam
water sludge - flush tank.
Refer to water hammer explanation in
common complaints section.
Check all other appliances that can
generate noise i.e. washing machine,
dishwasher, ball cocks etc.
Check for a faulty stop cock, non-
return valve, ECV or T&PR valve.
Check for restrictions in pipe work,
faulty valves, loose plumbing, other
appliances i.e. washing machine or
dishwasher. Fit PLV if required.
