Start-up of your GrandStream GXP-2000 Enterprise IP-Telephone
First steps with the GXP-2000

Congratulations on the purchase of your
Internet telephone!

Your telephone is already pre-configured for your sipgate account, so that you can attach

it directly to your Internet connection. Please proceed as follows:

First attach the handset by connecting the enclosed coiled cable to the
handset base plug on the left side of the telephone.
Attach the telephone with the enclosed network cable to your Internet

connection. One end of the cable must be connected to a 10/100 Mbit
Ethernet port (e.g. on a router). The other end has to be connected to
rear wall of the telephone. Your router must be set to assign an IP address
automatically to the telephone by DHCP. You may need to adjust your router
to do this.

Attach the power cable. The appropriate socket is directly beside the net-
work connection on the back of the base unit.
First start: The first time the telephone starts, the display lights up blue and

the device will do a firmware upgrade. Please wait while the telephone boots
completely and do not interrupt this process or you may damage the phone.

Speakerphone: With this key you can
activate the hands-free function.
It makes the phone useable while
the handset is in the cradle.
During a call, you may switch
to speaker mode. In order to
switch back to the handset,
just pick it up. If you are
using the speakerphone
function, pressing the
button again will
terminate the call.
Send: Activates the redialling
function. By lifting the handset or
pressing the speakerphone button, you may
automatically redial the last number called.

After the automatic update, the display lights up blue again and

al. If you lift the handset you will hear a dial tone.
You are now reachable on your sipgate phone and can call
sipgate numbers, free o8oo numbers in the United Kingdom and
over 1 million customers in partner networks. For other calls,
such as those to normal fixed-lines (pstn), or mobile phones you
will need credit on your sipgate account. To add money to your
account login and go to account & billing tab and you will see
how to credit your sipgate account.

Tip: You can save 5 seconds of
call processing time by pressing
the hash key at the end of the
dialled number! There is normally
an automatic 5-second delay until
call processing begins.
Voicemail:
This button will
automatically call
and check your
voicemail.
Menu: This button gives
you access to the con-
figuration menu of the
GXP2000
