If you use an unformatted DVD-RAM, you must format it before the first recording.
The recording is saved in free areas on the disc. If there is no more space left on the
target drive, you must delete recordings or use a new disc.
When recording dual-channel or multi-audio TV programmes on DVD-R, DVD-RW
or +R, only one audio channel can be recorded.
Please select the desired audio channel in advance.

If you have activated the write-protection, cancel it.

Recording television programmes

Use CH
, or the numeric buttons to select the TV channel.
Use INPUT SELECT to select the AV channel for externally connected devices.
Press REC MODE to select the recording mode.
Press
REC to start the recording.
Press STOP
Up until the recording is stopped, it counts as 1 title. After recording to disc is complete, it takes
some time for the unit to process the information for device control.

The unit display changes with each press of the button:

This is not possible with FLEXIBLE REC or TIMER-controlled recordings.
If you press STOP , the recording will be stopped and the time setting deleted.
DIRECT TV REC

Direct TV recording

If your television is equipped with analogue tuner and Q Link functionality, you can directly
record the programme that you are watching on TV. The programme position shown on the
unit automatically switches to the appropriate TV programme.
Press DIRECT TV REC for 3 seconds. The recording begins.
Press STOP
If the station transmits teletext information and the Title Page is set properly, the programme
and station names are recorded automatically. Launching the titles with this unit can take
approx. 10 minutes and may fail in some cases.
Q Link
If you have an IDTV with EPG (electronic programme guide) function for digital broadcast,
you can perform timer recording using the EPG function. Refer to the televisions operating
instructions for further informations.

Playback during recording

During recording, you can start playback from the beginning of the programme.
Press PLAY
The playback can only begin if at least 2 seconds have passed since the start of the recording.

Simultaneous recording and playback

Press DIRECT NAVIGATOR during the recording or TIMER-controlled recording.

Press DIRECT NAVIGATOR without selecting a title again to exit the title view.

If you start the playback while the unit is in standby mode for a TIMER-controlled recording,
the recording will begin at the programmed time.
You can record up to 99 titles on one disc (+R: 49 titles).
