Sonyof CanadaLtd.("Sony") herebywarrants,subjectto the terms andcondi-
tions hereinset forth, this product againstdefects in materialand workman-
ship duringthe specifiedwarrantyperiod,in the eventof a defectof materialor
workmanship duringthe specifiedwarranty period, Sonywill repairthe same,
effectingall necessarypartsreplacementswith eithernew or refurbishedparts,
without chargefor either parts or labour.
Thewarrantyperiodis as follows:
Labour andParts: ONEyear from the dateof original purchaseat retail.
Conditions:
Unauthorized Modification,Repair, Abuse,Etc.:
This limited warranty is void if: (i) the unit has beenpreviously altered,modi-
fied, installed or mountedfor commercialuse, or repairedor servicedby any-
one other than the service facilities authorizedby Sonyto render such ser-
vices,(ii) the serial number on the unit has beenalteredor removed,or (iii) the
unit has beensubjectto accident, misuse,abuse or operated contrary to the
instructions contained in the Owner's Manual. The opinion of Sony with re-
spect to this matter shall be final.
Commercial U se or Rental
This product is not intended for commercial useor rental.Shouldthis unit be
usedat any time for commercialpurposes or asa rental unit, the limited war-
ranty period for parts and labour shall be 90 days from the date of original
purchaseat retail.Theopinion of Sonywith respectto this matter shallbe final.
Exclusions:
Thislimited warranty doesnot extendto brokenor damagedcabinets,acces-
sories, batteries,exposedantennas and styluses, or to parts wearing out due
to normalwear andtear. This limited warranty doesnot cover regularproduct
maintenancesuch ascleaning, lubricationor check-ups.
This limited warrantycoversonly the hardwarecomponentspackaged withthe
product. It doesnot covertechnicalassistance for hardwareor softwareusage
and it doesnot coverany softwareproducts whether or not containedin the
product. Any such softwareis provided"AS iS" unlessexpresslyprovidedfor
in anyenclosedsoftwarelimited warranty.Pleasereferto the EndUser License
Agreementsincludedwith the productfor your rights andobligationswith re-
spect to the software.
Thislimitedwarrantyis validonly in Canada.

The unit mustbe deliveredin person to one of the nearestSonyservicefacili-
ties in Canada,or shipped,freight prepaid,in either its original package or
similar packageaffording an equal degreeof protection and with instructions
indicatingalocationwithin Canada to which the unit may bereturned,if shipped
to the service facility, the repairedunit will be returnedto customer freight
prepaid.All accessoriesthat areenclosedwith the unit must be listed individu-
ally on the packingslip for the shipping documentation.Defectiveaccessories
should be shippedto Sonyas a separaterepairitem. Sonyshatl haveno liabil-
ity whatsoeverfor loss or damagein transit of items shippedto servicefacili-
ties. Anypartsreplacedunderthis limited warrantywill becomethe property of
Sony.it isyourresponsibility t o backupany data, software or othermated-
aJsyoumay havestored or preserved onyourunit. it is likely thatsuch data,
software, or other materials wiBbe lostor reformatted duringservice and
SonywUlnotbe responsible for any suchdamageor Joss.
Proof of Purchase:
This limited warranty appliesto the product from the original d ateof purchase
at retail. Theowner must furnish proof of original purchaseat retail.
