Meter/workstation
communication error.
Meter connection
broken or interrupted
during data transfer.
Meter's battery power
too low to operate
infrared port/barcode
scanner.
High, low, or normal
control range error.
Min value greater than
Max.
Test strip not fully
inserted into test strip
holder.
Faulty internal
communications.
System Error.
Currently no reagent
information in meter,
and new reagent infor-
mation can be entered
at workstation only.
Control lot number not
correct or field left
blank.
Value >500 mg/dL
entered.
Expiration date not
correct, or CTL code
format invalid.

SOLUTION
Retry data transfer. If problem
persists, contact LifeScan.
Do not remove meter from
connection module or serial
cable until data transfer is
complete.
Check meter's battery bar
for adequate power. Change
meter batteries, if necessary.
Check ranges. Make sure Min
value is less than Max.
Remove test strip. When
"Insert Strip" appears, firmly
insert test strip into test strip
holder until it stops.
Retry operation. If problem
persists, do not use meter.
Contact LifeScan.
Turn off meter. Contact
LifeScan.
Transfer data to download
reagent information to meter.
Check lot number (control,
unknown, or linearity) and
reenter it.
Reenter correct control value.
Check CTL code on test strip
bottle label and reenter it.
