    Performing a Quality Control Test Turn on the meter by pressing the blue power button. Cont Press on the status screen. QC Test Select from the Main Menu. Select a control test. Enter your operator ID, or scan your badge. Press Select the control solution lot number, or scan the vial.

    Transferring Data Connection Module Place the meter in the connection module cradle. The connection module turns on the meter. Data transfer occurs automatically. Remove the meter from Cont the cradle, and press if the meter is still on. The meter turns off automatically after data transfer is complete.

    Serial Cable Connect the serial cable to the meter’s serial port. The other end of the cable will be connected to a workstation, modem, or serial server. The meter automatically turns on and data transfer occurs. Remove the serial cable from the meter Cont and press if the meter is still on.

    Cleaning Cleaning the Outside of the Meter Clean the outside of the meter with a cloth dampened with a 10% bleach solution. Follow with a cloth moistened with water to remove residual bleach. Dry thoroughly. Do not get water inside the CAUTION: meter.
  • Page 20 Remove the test strip holder by pressing down on the left side and sliding it to the right. Wipe the test strip holder cover and base with a cotton swab dampened with a 10% bleach solution. Follow with a swab dampened with water to remove residual bleach.

    Changing the Batteries Turn off the meter. Press down on the battery door latch. Lift open the door. Remove all three batteries and dispose of them according to your institution’s guidelines.
