ADJUSTING THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER
ASSEMBLY
WARNING
Securely support the motorcycle so that there
is no danger of it falling over.
Spring preload
CAUTION:
Never go beyond the maximum or minimum
adjustment positions.
1. Adjust:
• spring preload
NOTE:
Use the special wrench included in the owner's
tool kit to make the adjustment.
a. Loosen the locknut 1.
b. Turn the adjusting nut 2 in direction a or b.

c. With each complete turn of the adjusting nut,
spring preload changes by 1.5 mm.
Preloaded spring length A:
Standard: 162 mm
Minimum: 154 mm (hard)
Maximum: 170 mm (soft)
d. Tighten the locknut.

45 Nm (4.5 m•kg)
