Connect the Gateway to the LAN and AC Power
1. Connect a supplied CAT 5 LAN cable from your office LAN to the
Gateway LAN port.
2. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall
switch and the DC plug end into the Gateway DC 5.1V port. Wait up
to one minute until the Gateway screen lights up.
The Gateway LINE LEDs will blink for up to 15 seconds while the lines
calibrate to the Gateway.

System Check
When the Gateway finds the network and
another Syn248 device, the display changes from
"Synchronizing" to "Synchronized." The red LINE
LEDs should turn off for each line you connected
in Step 3, indicating that the lines have calibrated
to the Gateway and you can now make calls on those lines.
If your telephone service provider changes your line configuration
or you need to change Gateway LINE port assignments, you must
recalibrate the affected lines by disconnecting them for 15 to
30 seconds, then reconnecting them. The LINE LED will flash for
approximately 15 seconds, then go out.
After synchronizing with the Gateway,
the first Deskset connected to the LAN
displays "EXT 200" on its screen.

Install the Desksets
You can install the Desksets on a desktop or mount them on the wall.
Desktop setup requires the Deskset stand, which provides two
positions: 45° and 60°. If wall-mounting or using the stand at 60°,
slide out and rotate the handset tab to secure the handset when it
is on hook.
When wall-mounting the Deskset, connect the LAN cable and power
adapter first. Do not connect the LAN cable to the LAN switch yet.
Connect the handset cord. Insert the coiled end into the Deskset
handset port (located on the side of the unit) and insert the longer
straight section into the handset.
If not using PoE, plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet not
controlled by a wall switch and the DC plug end into the Deskset DC
5.1V port.
