2. Allow ample time for the oil to drain from the
crankcase and oil filter.
3. Remove and appropriately discard the oil filter.
See Figure 8-3.
4. Use an allen wrench to loosen the adapter
nipple. Note the locating pin of the adapter and
corresponding notch in the pad of the oil pan.
Remove the nipple, washer (plastic adapters
only), and oil filter adapter. See Figure 8-4.

5. If an oil cooler is used remove the mounting
screws securing the cooler unit to the blower
housing. See Figure 8-5.

6. Remove the oil pump outlet tube assembly and
the oil feed tube (if not removed with nipple).
