Problem
The display remains dark if I
switch on the Lucca.
The battery is always empty.
The Lucca does not respond
when I touch the buttons.
The Lucca has no or only a very
poor GPS reception.
48
Cause
The display may temporarily
loose its contrast after long and
heavy exposure to the sun and
high temperatures.
The battery is not suffi ciently
charged.
In its switched-off state, the
Lucca uses a minor amount of
energy for the memory and the
GPS receiver. Hence, the bat-
tery could be discharged after
a few days.
During short driving times,
the battery is not completely
charged.
The operating system of the
Lucca is overloaded.
After switch-on, the Lucca re-
quires approx. 1 minute until it
is ready for navigation. During
the initial switch-on, it requires
a longer time and a strong GPS
signal.
The Lucca has no GPS reception
for an extended period of time.
Heavily metal-evaporated wind-
shields may present an obstacle
to the GPS reception of the
Lucca.
Solution
Place the Lucca in the shade for
approximately ten minutes and
switch it on again.
Fully charge the battery. The
complete charging time is ap-
prox. 5 hours.
To obtain battery operation of up
to 5 hours in navigation mode,
completely charge the battery
for approx. 5 to 6 hours.
Always operate the Lucca in
the vehicle together with the
charger cable via the cigarette
lighter.
Press the Reset button.
Move to the outside, place the
device at an elevated position
and do not move it. Your Lucca
is operational again after no
more than 2 to 5 minutes. At
that time, the navigation is also
possible under less than perfect
conditions.
Press the Reset button and take
the Lucca outside so that it can
search for GPS signals again.
Connect a GPS antenna, which
is available as an option, to the
Lucca to improve the GPS re-
ception.
