The B.E.S.T. (Biconditional Equalized Signal Tracking) checks
the condition of the tape during recording and playback, and
compensates for poor reproduction to provide the best quality
recording and playback pictures. *The default setting is "ON".

highlight bar (arrow) to
"FUNCTION SET", then
press OK or PUSH JOG
SELECT B.E.S.T. MODE

highlight bar (arrow) to
"B.E.S.T.", then press OK or
PUSH JOG
to set to
"ON" or "OFF".
NOTE:
When recording or when
playing back tapes
recorded on this VCR set the B.E.S.T. to "ON".
