ADJUSTMENTS

3.12 FRONT REEL LIMIT SWITCH ________________________________________________

The front left and right lift arms are equipped with proximity
switches which signal the controller to turn off the reels.The
switches are mounted to the tractor frame directly behind
the lift arms. If reels continue to run when lifted, or do not run
when lowered inspect switch. Adjust or replace switch as
needed.
To adjust switch:
1.
Park tractor on a flat, level surface.
2.
Remove reel from lift arm.
3.
Turn ignition key to the RUN position to activate
controller. Do not run reels or start engine.
4.
Adjust switch as required to obtain air gap between
switch and arm of 0.120 to 0.190 in. (3 to 5 mm).
5.
Lift arm manually until it is at an angle of 17°.
6.
With lift arm at 17°, adjust switch (I) up or down, until
switch contacts close. Secure switch in this position.
7.
Repeat procedure for lift arm on opposite side.

3.13 STEERING TOE-IN _________________________________________________________

1.
Turn wheels to straight ahead position.
2.
Loosen jam nuts (J) on both sides of tie rod (M).
3.
Turn tie rod (M) to provide proper toe-in. Toe-in must
not exceed +1/16" (1.5 mm) (K). Retighten jam nuts.
4.
After adjusting tie rod, adjust steering cylinder by
threading the rod (N in or out of ball joint so spindle
arm (L) clears the stop on the axle by 1/32 to 3/32in.
(0.8 to 2 mm) (O) when cylinder is fully extended.

8.
Start engine and check that reels turn off when raised.
Note: The reed switches set the point where the reels
turn off, not how high they will raise. The reels will
actually raise to a position slightly above 17 °.
