Basic operations

To locate a desired selection using the numeric buttons

¶ For DVD AUDIO/DVD VIDEO/Audio CD:
For SVCD/Video CD:
Use the numeric buttons to specify the number.
Depending on the disc type and the unit status, what is specified differs.
Unit status

During playback

Pressing the numeric buttons simply selects a track. To select a group (when a disc contains more than one
group), press TITLE/GROUP before press the numeric buttons.

Pressing the numeric buttons simply selects a chapter when a disc contains only one title, or selects a title when
a disc contains more than one title.
The selected title, group or track number appears in the display window on the front panel.
• To select a number between 1 and 10: Press the corresponding button for the number.
• To select a number higher than 10:

The unit starts playback from the beginning of the selection. The selected title, chapter, group or track number
appears in the display window on the front panel.
NOTES
• You can also specify the desired title during DVD VIDEO playback. See page 28 for details.
• During DVD AUDIO/DVD VIDEO playback, if a menu is shown on the TV screen, the numeric buttons may be used for selecting
an item in the menu.
• When
appears on the TV screen:
The title, chapter group or track you have selected is not contained in the disc.
• This function does not work during SVCD/Video CD playback with PBC function (see pages 5 and 27).
