When cutting small logs and limbs, open the throltle
fully just before letting the chain touch the wood. lt is
safest to cut with the saw bumper up against the wood.
lf you cut lurther out along the bar, the chain will have
a tendency to pull you and the saw towards the work, so
you must take care to brace yourself against this slight
pull. (The reverse will be true il you are using the top of
the bar to snip small limbs or "under" buck). Exert light
feed pressure to cut straight through the wood, but be
ready to ease ofl on the throttle the moment the cul is
completed.
Cutting large logs or felling trees, do as above, but place
the saw bumper right up against the wood so that you
can pivot the saw at the bumper for best control and
easy feeding.
