PROBLEM
Oven does not broil.
Overheating or "runaway" oven.
Premature burnout of bake ele-
ment.
Oven door difficult to open.
Door sagging on one side.
Door does not close completely
at top.
Door glass breaks.
Damaged oven door gasket.
Chipped oven liner.
Oven racks fit too tight.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
If indicator light lights up broil
element is defective.
Defective latch safety switch.
Loose or bad wiring.
Loose or bad wiring to latch safety
switch.
Thermostat sensor bulb missing.
Improper use of oven (e.g. being
used to heat the home).
Worn or broken broil stop rollers.
Hinge loose or out of position to
oven liner.
Broken or misadjusted door
spring.
Door fits too tight at bottom.
Broiling with door closed.
Oven racks covered with foil.
Glass installed backward.
Improper cleaning.
Damaged in shipping.
Tolerance buildup in oven liner.

SOLUTION
Check broil element.
Check switch continuity.
Check wiring (see wiring dia-
grams).
Check wiring (see wiring dia-
grams).
Replace bulb.
Use oven for baking only.
Check rollers.
Adjust hinges.
Adjust or replace spring.
Adjust hinges outward.
Open door to broil stop position.
Do not cover racks with foil.
Install tempered glass toward the
heat.
Do not use harsh abrasives or
scouring pads. See Use & Care
instructions.
Repair or replace liner. To repair
smooth porcelain bronzetone,
order P/N 242756.
Notify Customer Assurance De-
partment.
