2.1 BHT System Configuration

The BHT code data collection system requires the following hardware as well as the BHT Bar Code
Handy Terminal (which reads 2D codes and bar codes and accepts keypad entry), depending upon the
intended system configuration.
• Host PC:
• CU-201/CU-221 (option):
• RS-232C interface cable (option): Connects the CU-201 and the host PC with each other.
• USB interface cable (option):
USB direct connection between the BHT and host PC is also possible by using another type of an
optional USB interface cable having a Mini-B plug as shown below.
As an application development tool, Microsoft eMbedded Visual C++ (Service Pack 1 or later) should be
used.

IrDA Communications System
IrDA interface
Allows you to edit, manage and download user programs and
data, as well as downloading system programs.
Exchanges programs and data with the BHT via the IrDA interface
and with the host PC via the RS-232C (CU-201) or USB interface
(CU-221).
Connects the CU-221 and the host PC with each other. (This cable
has a Series B plug.)
