COUNTERWEIGHT INSTRUCTIONS (CONT)
Recording a Patient Weight in Pounds (lb) between 425 - 500 lb
To read the patient's weight that is between 425 lb - 500 lb, add the weight value indicated on
the lower and upper poise bars, and add 150 lb.
For example: If a patient weighs 441 lb:
1. When a patient weighs 441 lb, place the lower poise weight at 250 lb.
2. Place the 150 lb counterweight on the 5
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.
4. Add the weight value indicated on the upper and lower poise bars, as well as an additional
150 lb:
Recording a Patient Weight in Kilograms (kg) between 161 - 180 kg
To read the patient's weight, add the weight value indicated on the lower and upper poise bars,
and add 40 kg.
For example: If a patient weighs 171 kg:
1. When a patient weighs 171 kg, place the lower poise weight at 120 kg.
2. Place the 40 kg counterweight on the 5
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.
4. Add the weight value indicated on the upper and lower poise bars, as well as an additional
40 kg:
Recording a Patient Weight in Kilograms (kg) between 180 - 200 kg
To read the patient's weight, add the weight value indicated on the lower and upper poise bars,
and add 40 kg.
For example: If a patient weighs 192 kg:
1. When a patient weighs 192 kg, place the lower poise weight at 140 kg.
2. Place the 40 kg counterweight on the 5
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.
4. Add the weight value indicated on the upper and lower poise bars, as well as an additional
40 kg:
