The initial setup procedure enables you to:
Select system language.
Select vessel type.
Set up display types & groups (see Figure 1-2 )
Set time and date formats.
Set local time value.
Set units.

During initial setup, you allocate each ST70+ display as either an Instrument or a Pilot
Controller, then define groups of Instruments and Pilot Controllers (see Figure 1-2: ,
Display type & group setup summary). Each group is controlled by a common keypad
or keypads. For example, you could group together all Instruments fitted at the helm
and control them with a single keypad.
When grouping displays together, the following rules apply:
All displays in a group must be set to be the same type, i.e. all Instruments or all
Pilot Controllers.
A 'group' can be just one display, or a number of displays up to a maximum of four.
The keypad(s) allocated to a group must be appropriate to the display function, i.e.
Instrument keypad for Instrument groups, Pilot Controller keypad for Pilot Control-
ler groups.
