Keys, Doors, and Windows
Make sure there are no
obstructions blocking the
sensors in the front overhead
console.
Do not hang anything from the
rear view mirror.
If any passengers must remain in
the vehicle, they should lock the
doors from inside using the power
door lock switch after the doors
have been closed. The intrusion
sensor will not be activated.
Intrusion and Inclination
Sensors Switch
The vehicle may be equipped with
alarm sensors that monitor for
intrusion of the vehicle interior and
vehicle inclination. It is
recommended that this system be
deactivated if pets are left in the
vehicle or when transported on a
ferry or train.
To arm the system without
monitoring of the passenger
compartment and vehicle inclination:
1. With the vehicle off, press
in the overhead console. The
button light will come on.
2. Close all doors, bonnet, and
tailgate.
3. Press
on the RKE transmitter,
or lock the vehicle using the
power door lock switch in the
centre console if Unlocked Door
Anti Lock Out is turned off.
Anti-theft Locking System
The vehicle is equipped with a
deadbolt locking feature in addition
to the standard door locks.
If the vehicle has the keyless
access system, the deadbolt is
engaged whenever you press
the keyless access transmitter twice
within five seconds.
If the vehicle does not have keyless
access, use either the removable
key or the Remote Keyless Entry
(RKE) transmitter to lock or unlock
the doors and operate the deadbolt.
Hold the removable key in the
lock position for a few seconds
or quickly turn the key twice in
the lock cylinder to secure the
doors with the deadbolt.
Press
on the RKE transmitter
once to lock all the doors.
Pressing the button again within
three seconds will secure the
deadbolt.
When the doors are secured with
the deadbolt, the manual door lock
controls will not unlock the doors.
Also, if the theft-deterrent system is
armed, the doors cannot be
unlocked using the power door lock
controls.
