    Your modem has a model number and a serial number. You could locate them either on the box or on the manual. Record the model number and serial number to register your Modem Blaster Flash 56 External online and always keep a hardcopy for your future reference.

    Some supplied software may require a faster CPU and newer operating systems. Modem Blaster must be connected to an analog telephone line, also called a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) line.     Connecting Telephone Line Before using the Modem Blaster, you need to connect your telephone line to the modem. To ensure that the modem works properly, you should have the following information concerning your telephone line: • Your modem may not be used on “party lines”, or on toll or coin-operated lines.

    Before you begin, please have the Software and Modem Installation CD-ROM ready, which will be required to install the modem drivers. Follow the steps below to install your Modem Blaster driver: 1. Power on your modem and then the computer to allow the operating system to detect the Modem Blaster.

    Installing Drivers in Windows NT 4.0 Before you begin, please have the Software and Modem Installation CD-ROM ready, which will be required to install the modem drivers. 1st Method 1. Power on your computer and insert the Software and Modem Installation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.

    2nd Method 1. Power on your computer and insert the Software and Modem Installation CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Once you are into the Windows environment, select the button at the bottom left corner of your screen. Select Settings, and then select Control Panel. 2.

    Testing the Installation in Windows 95/98 After you have set up your Modem Blaster, run the following test to ensure that your modem has been installed properly. To test your modem installation: 1. Click the button on the taskbar. The Start menu similar to Figure 2-31 appears.
