Adding refrigerant/ Collecting refrigerant

Adding refrigerant


The outdoor unit is loaded with sufficient refrigerant for the standard
piping. Thus, refrigerant must be added if the piping is lengthened.
This operation can only be performed by a qualified refrigeration
specialist. For quantity of adding refrigerant, refer to page 21.
1 Check that the stop valve is closed entirely.
Charge the refrigerant through the service port of liquid stop valve.

Do not charge the refrigerant through the gas side service port.
Note

If you cannot charge the refrigerant according to the upper steps,

following these:
3-1 Open both liquid stop valve and gas stop valve.
3-2 Operate the air conditioner by pressing the K2 key on the outdoor
unit PCB.
3-3 About 30 minutes later, charge the refrigerant through the service
port of gas stop valve.
If necessary, refer to the pressure table classified by outdoor

According to the following orders when you want to collect refrigerant.
1. Collect refrigerant by pushing the K2 button on outdoor unit PCB three
times.
2. Fasten the gas side service valve after operating for three minutes.
3. When the outdoor PCB displays P3, compressor stops and you can fasten
the liquid stop service valve.
4. Collecting refrigerant finished.
When the outdoor temperature is under 5°C, you'd better not

to collect refrigerant, or it will damage the compressor.
