Connecting yo
① Step 1: Plug in the phone line
Using a standard telephone cable with

all jack set up as the ADSL line and the other end in the 'LINE' port on the
back of the SMC70032AE.
② Step 2: Plug in the Et
If
you are connecting to a networking device, connect a straight-through
Ethernet cable to the SMC70032AE "LAN"
to your PC, the cable must be a crossover Ethernet cable.
③ Step 3: Connect the console link
If
an initial setup other than the default configuration is required, you will need
to use the serial cable to connect the PC'
usually assigned to COM1 or COM2) to the "CONSOLE" port on the back of the
SMC70032AE modem (a DB9 Female port). Setting up the modem requires a
terminal emulation program such as HyperTerminal to access the command line
interface program of the modem.

④ Step 4: Plug in the power supply

lug the power cord into the wall and then connect it to the power adapter unit.
With the adapter now powered, you
