ADJUSTING THE VOLUME

Turn the On/Off/Volume knob clockwise to
increase the volume or counterclockwise to
decrease the volume.
–or–
1 Hold down the Volume Set button (page 24);
you will hear a continuous tone.
2 Turn the On-Off/Volume knob to the desired
volume level.
3 Release the Volume Set button.
SELECTING A TRUNKED OR
CONVENTIONAL ZONE
A mode is a trunked talkgroup or conventional
channel and all the features that are
programmed to it. Up to 160 modes can be
programmed into your radio.
A zone is a grouping of modes that is selected
using the menu keys. Up to 16 zones, with a
maximum of 15 unique trunked systems, can
be programmed into your radio.
Before you use your radio to receive or send
messages, you should first select the desired
zone and mode.
