    Be sure to observe the following notes. Otherwise, trouble or operation error may be caused. 1. This equipment is not dust-proof structured. Please use it indoors with less dust. If dust gets inside through the card inserting port, reading of a card may be adversely affected. In case you do not use the equipment for a long time, put the cover on the inserting port or store the equipment in a dust-free place in order to prevent invasion or accumulation of dust.
  • Page 5 10. Do not remove a card or disconnect the USB cable during the access to a card. In case application software (PC side) instructs you to remove or insert a card, follow the instructions. 11. If you are using a mobile phone or wireless LAN card near this card reader, this reader may not function properly.

    Card inserting port: To insert a card, fit the IC contact direction to the inserting direction mark near the inserting port and insert a card correctly. LED: This LED flashes when this card reader is connected to PC. This LED goes ON when a card is correctly inserted into this card reader.

    Install the software without connecting the smart card reader to PC. Installing the driver software Using the floppy disk attached to the product, install the driver software. Insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive of PC. Execute the file “INSTALL.EXE” in the floppy disk. Check that “INSTALL”...
  • Page 9 In case of a desktop PC, put the card reader on the stand flaps. In case of a notebook PC, you can hang the card reader on the LCD panel as shown in the right figure. Be careful in handling the card reader so that it does not fall off.

  • Page 10: Inspection And Maintenance

    To clean the smart card reader, wipe off dirt on the case with dry cloth. Do not use benzene, alcohol or thinner. The case will deteriorate or coating will come off. In case the stain is heavy, soak cloth in kitchen cleaner (neutral) diluted with water, squeeze it well, wipe off the stain, and finish-clean with dry cloth.

    Check the following items, and if the card reader is still abnormal, contact the retailer of your purchase. Symptom Point to check Is a card correctly inserted? Check for face/back or front/back of the card. Is the card inserted correctly with the IC chip face up and in the arrow direction of the card? Did you disconnect the USB cable? Did you install the driver software...

Note The minimum stock period for repair performance parts of ZU-9PS series shall be five years from the date of production discontinuation.
