Time-Out Timer

Time-out timers are preset for
15, 30, 60, or 120 seconds.
If the PTT is pressed and held
for more than the preset time, radio
transmission will be cut off. This is to
prevent a unit from tying up a
channel.
With four seconds remaining in
the preset time, the time-out timer
tone will be heard ("baaaah"). If the
PTT is released and pressed quickly
(quick-keyed), you can continue your
conversation uninterrupted and reset
the timer.
At the time-out point, the
transmission is cut off (the LED will
turn off) and the time-out timer tone
will be heard continuously until the
PTT is released.
