DANGER!
Mow only in conditions where you have clear visibility in daylight or with adequate artificial
lighting.
least 100 yards in front and to the sides of the Tractor and Mower. Make sure that you can
clearly see and identify passersby, steep slopes, ditches, drop-offs, overhead obstructions,
power lines, debris and foreign objects. If you are unable to clearly see this type of item
discontinue mowing.
WARNING!
Follow these guidelines to reduce the risk of equipment and grass
fires while operating, servicing, and repairing the Mower and
Tractor:
-Equip the Tractor with a fire extinguisher in an accessible location.
-Do Not operate the Mower on a Tractor with an underframe exhaust.
-Do Not smoke or have an open flame near the Mower and Tractor.
-Do Not drive into burning debris or freshly burnt areas.
-Ensure slip clutches are properly adjusted to prevent excessive
slippage and plate heating.
-Never allow clippings or debris to collect near drivelines, slip
clutches, and gearboxes. Periodically shut down the Tractor and
Mower and clean clippings and collected debris from the mower
deck.
7.6 POSITION CONTROLS
All operating positions of the mower are controlled
with two control valve levers. The 'lift' function control
permits selection of Up, Lock, or Down position and
the 'tilt' control may be placed in one of four positions;
Up, Lock, Down, or Float.
Moving the 'lift' lever up will raise the mower. Release
the lever and it will automatically return to the center
position to lock the mower into position. Moving the
"lift" lever down will lower mower.
Lift the 'tilt' lever and the mower tip will arc up toward
the operator. Push down on the tilt control lever and
the tip of the mower will rotate down. Release the
lever and it will automatically return to center position
to lock the mower into position. By pushing the lever
all the way down, it will lock into float detent position.
Please note, however, that the float function should
not be used when operating the Under Guardrail Mower!
The float function is only set for switchblade units
only! The tilt function also incorporates an additional
feature. If the tilt is lifted to its maximum position, the
lift cylinder will engage and fully raise the cutterbar to
maximum up position. When the tilt is lowered the bar
will automatically return to the same lift height it was.
This allows the operator to use one lever to raise the
cutter bar to avoid an obstruction such as a utility
pole.
For Under Guardrail mowing, position the mower above
the ground and leave the control levers in the centered
lock position. Adjust position as needed to follow the
terrain. Do not allow the mower to stay in contact with
the Ground!
