Attaching the RedAlert2 to a Television

To connect the RedAlert2 to a television:
1.
Be sure you've already connected the
power adaptor (9V).
2.
Plug the supplied RCA video out cable to the AV OUT on the back of the
RedAlert2.
3.
Plug the yellow RCA plug into a yellow VIDEO INPUT on the back of your
television, and the white RCA plug into the white AUDIO INPUT.
Tips and Tricks:
There are usually lots of plugs on the back of most televisions and VCRs. Whilst this
is useful when connecting devices, it can make figuring out which plug is which
somewhat confusing. Here's a couple of tips.
1. Always connect the camera to a connection named "INPUT". VCRs always have
"OUTPUT" connections, and many televisions have them as well - so beware of these!
2. Never force a plug into an INPUT it doesn't easily fit into. For example, there
are "RF INPUT" and "RF OUTPUT" connections on the back of most VCRs. With
enough force, the RCA connections on the A/V cable from the RedAlert2 could
be made to fit in this. Unfortunately, RF and A/V signals are not compatible, and
connecting the camera in this way will not yield any useful results!
3. Make sure you plug the A/V cable into the same colored connection as the
plugs. The A/V plugs and INPUTs are yellow white and red, the yellow being the
video connection and the white and red being the left and right audio channels
respectively. TVs and VCRs which don't have stereo sound only have one audio
plug, which is white.
Also, watch out for "Component Video Inputs". Though these use RCA plugs like
A/V inputs, they are a very different type of video signal. Component inputs are
color coded red, green and blue.
