TROUBLESHOOTING

If symptoms of poor performance develop, the
following chart can be used as a guide to correct
the problem.
When diagnosing faults in operation of the grinder,
always check that the hydraulic power source is
Griner does not run
Grinder operates too slow.
Grinder operates too fast.
supplying the correct hydraulic flow and pressure to
the grinder as listed in the table. Use a flowmeter
known to be accurate. Check the flow with the
hydraulic oil temperature at least 80°F/27°C.
Hydraulic power source not
functioning.
Couplers or hoses blocked.
Hydraulic motor failure.
Hydraulic lines not connected.
Hydraulic motor speed to slow.
High back-pressure.
Couplers or hoses blocked.
Oil too hot (above 140°F/60°C)
or too cold (below 60°F/16°C).
Relief valve set too low.
Hydraulic motor worn.
Flow control malfunctioning.
Flow control malfunctioning.

Check power source for proper
flow and pressure (7-10 gpm/
26-38 lpm @ 1500-2000 psi/
105-140 bar.
Locate and remove restriction.
Inspect and repair.
Connect lines.
Check power unit for proper
flow (7-10 gpm/26-38 lpm).
Check hydraulic system for
excessive back-pressure (over
250 psi/17 bar).
Locate and remove restriction.
Check hydraulic power source
for proper oil temperature.
Bypass cooler to warm oil or
provide cooler to maintain proper
temperature.
Adjust relief valve to 2100-2250
psi/145-155 bar.
Inspect, repair or replace.
Have flow control serviced at
an authorized Stanley service
center.
Have flow control and valve body
serviced at an authorized
Stanley service center.
