Allows hard drives to monitor their own health and to
raise flags if imminent failures were predicted
Predicts failures before they occur. Tracks fault
prediction and failure indication parameters such as
re-allocated sector count, spin retry count, calibration
retry count
By avoiding actual hard drive failures, SMART hard
drives act as "insurance" against unplanned user
downtime and potential data loss from hard drive
failure
Alerts management console if memory is removed or
changed
Monitors the temperature state within the chassis. Three
modes:
NORMAL – normal temperature ranges
ALERTED – excessive temperatures are detected.
Raises a flag so action can be taken to avoid
shutdown or provide for a smoother system shutdown
SHUTDOWN – excessive temperatures are
encountered. Automatically shuts down the computer
without warning before hardware component damage
occurs
Provides data and system file protection for HP business PCs
to enable fast recovery of information that is accidentally
deleted or if the system becomes corrupted. Designed for
disconnected or seldom-connected users, Local Recovery
protects your HP computer's data and system state by taking
scheduled snapshots, which are then stored in a protected
area on the local hard disk. System backup and disaster
recovery is now simple and fast for all users, regardless of
connectivity.
Withstands power surges up to 2000V
Provides data transfer verification and proactive notification
of hard drive data transmission problems with
recommendations for enhancing system performance. It
detects all the following errors types:
single bit errors
double bit errors
an odd number of errors
error bursts up to 32-bits long
