Accessories
Shelves
• The shelves are suitable for storing food.
• To remove the shelf, lift up at the front and pull out.
• To put the shelf back, simply push in as far as it will go.
Freezer drawer
• The drawer is suitable for storing frozen food.
Ice-cube production
• T his appliance is equipped with one or more trays for
the production of ice-cubes .
Freezing fresh food
• T he freezer compartment is suitable for freezing fresh
food and storing frozen and deep-frozen food for a
long time .
• T he maximum amount of food that can be frozen in
24 hours is specified on the rating plate, a label
located on the inside of the appliance .
• T he freezing process lasts 24 hours: during this period
do not add other food to be frozen .
Storing frozen food
• B efore putting the product in the compartment let the
appliance run at least 2 hours on the higher settings .
Important! for an extended period of time, the defrosted
food must be consumed quickly or cooked immediately and
then refrozen (after cooked) .
Thawing
• D eep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can
be thawed in the freezer compartment or at room
temperature, depending on the time available for
this operation .
• S mall pieces may even be cooked still frozen, directly
from the freezer . In this case, cooking will take longer .
Important!
In order to make the most of the volume of the frozen-food
storage compartment, the user can remove one or more
shelves or drawers out of the appliance, suitable to your
daily use . In order to save energy, do not take the bottom
freezer drawer out .

Noises during operation
The following noises are characteristic of refrigeration
appliances:
Clicks Whenever the compressor switches on or off, a click
can be heard .
Humming As soon as the compressor is in operation, you
can hear it humming .
Bubbling When refrigerant flows into thin tubes, you can
hear bubbling or splashing noises .
Splashing Even after the compressor has been switched off,
this noise can be heard for a short time .
Energy saving tips
• D o not install the appliance near cookers, radiators or
other sources of warmth .
• D o not open the door too often or leave the door open
any longer than necessary .
• D o not set temperature colder than necessary.
• M ake sure the side plates and back plate of the
appliance are with some distance from the wall,
follow the instructions relevant to installation .
Hints for freezing
To help you make the most of the freezing process there are
some important hints:
• T he freezing process takes 24 hours. No further food
to be frozen should be added during the period .
• o nly freeze top quality, fresh and thoroughly cleaned
foodstuffs .
• P repare food in small portions to enable it to be
rapidly and completely frozen and to make it possible
subsequently to thaw only the quantity required
• W rap up the food in polythene and make sure that
packages are airtight;
• D o not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food which
is already frozen, thus avoiding a rise in temperature of
the latter .
• L ean foods store better and longer than fatty ones; salt
reduces the storage life of food .
• B locks of ice, if consumed immediately after removal
from the freezer compartment, can possibly cause the
skin to be freeze burnt .
• I t is advisable to show the freezing date on each
individual pack to enable you to keep tab of the
storage time .
