RAID 10 (Mirroring + Striping)

In addition to striping (the process distributing data across multiple hard disks), RAID10 mirrors the
data for redundancy. For example, when writing six blocks of data (D0 - D5) with four hard disks,
each data block and redundant data are distributed across the hard disks (see below figure).
Reliability is enhanced by writing the data across four hard disks, and redundancy is achieved with
the redundant data. Although only half of the capacity of all hard disks is available, it is better perfor-
mance than RAID5.
