Parental
A DVD is usually encoded with a rating level to indicate the recommended audience
age. You have the option to select the content rating level allowed for playback in
your TV.
You will be prompted to key in the system password to access this setting option.
For initial access to this menu:

(1) Press
to select Parental, and then press ENTER/CH LIST
Enter Password screen will appear.
(2) Press "0000" using the number buttons (0–9). (Please note that this is the
factory default password.) Then press ENTER/CH LIST

• Level 1 Kid Safe: Suitable for children
• Level 2 G: General audiences; recommended as acceptable for viewers of
all ages
• Level 3 PG: Parental guidance suggested
• Level 4 PG-13: Unsuitable for children under 13
• Level 5 PG-R: Parental guidance recommended
• Level 6 R: Restricted; parents or adult guardians are required to
accompany children under 17
• Level 7 NC-17: No one under 17 admitted
• Level 8 Adult: Virtually, DVD software of any grade (adult/general/
children) can be played back. Should be viewed only by adults due to
graphic sexual material, violence or language.
• Level Off: No playback restriction. All discs can be played regardless of
content rating.

(3) Press
to select the allowable rating level, and then press ENTER/CH
LIST
. The higher the level number, the more severe the content is.
(4) Press EJECT
to activate Parental control setting.
To temporarily cancel the parental restriction:
(1) Load the restricted content DVD that you want to play.
(2) Use the number buttons (0-9) to input the system password after the Enter
Password message, and then press ENTER/CH LIST
This suspension of the parental restriction setting applies until disc is ejected.
Note:
• If each setting (pages 72-75) has been completed, the TV can always work under
the same condition (especially with DVD discs). Each setting will be retained in
the memory even if you turn the power off.
• Some discs may not have their rating level encoded on the disc though it is
indicated on the disc jacket. Playback restriction will not apply to these discs so
make sure to restrict access to it manually.
• The password is required whenever you change the parental level.
• If you input a wrong number, press EXIT/CANCEL
again to view the parental rating levels.
