The cumulative VA rating of all devices (the load) to be connected to the Battery-and-Surge-Protected receptacles cannot exceed the 500VA rating.
CAUTION: Do not plug laser printers into the Battery-and Surge-Protected receptacles of the Compaq Pro UPS 500. The instantaneous current drawn by this type of printer may overload the UPS circuit. Never plug a UPS into itself. This WILL result in damage to the unit.
