The 3000 Series UPS models include a communications port for data exchange with the host computer. IMPORTANT: Compaq Power Management Software, LanSafe III, and FailSafe III require the communications port to be appropriately cabled to the host computer. Installation 2-9 Powering up the UPS When the unit is plugged in for the first time, the UPS automatically initiates a self-test. The front panel LED display lights will go on and off during the self- test. If the self-test is completed successfully, the UPS enters Standby mode.
