Memory

The number of text messages that can be stored in the base station depends on the size
of the messages (about 11 text messages of up to 160 characters each). The memory is
used for both the incoming and outgoing message lists. If the memory is full, the mes-
sage Text list full! Please delete entries is displayed. Delete text messages you no
longer require from the incoming and outgoing message lists.
You can check how much capacity your SMS memory has left (in %).

Sending a text message and the outgoing message list

Information on writing and sending a text message
If you are interrupted as you are writing (by a call, an incoming text message or because
the handset switches to idle status because of prolonged inactivity), the text message is
automatically stored in the outgoing message list. You can continue writing the text
message later (page 54).
Text messages that cannot be sent are assigned an error status (page 62) and are placed
in the incoming message list.
Text messages are only stored automatically if sending is interrupted. If you wish to
store a message then you must do so before it is sent.

Remember that some service providers will bill you for a cancelled call
to the SMS centre.
