D) LOADING BATTERIES
• Grip the Battery Cover (14), pull back and flip it open. (fig 5)
• Insert new 3 volt CR2 lithium battery following the polarity orientation shown inside the battery chamber (fig 6)
• Close Battery Cover and push it in.
• To check battery status press On/Off Switch (2) to turn on the camera and observe LCD Panel (15) to check
that frame number and status details appear.

After removing old battery, install new battery within five minutes to retain frame count memory.

camera shutter will then be inhibited and picture taking will be impossible until fresh battery is installed. The
frame count will be retained if film has already been loaded and will display correctly when fresh battery is
installed. However date and time cannot be retained when battery is removed. Refer to T) "DATE AND TIME
IMPRINTING"
Precautions:
Keep batteries out of reach of children. Do not break open, recharge or expose batteries to excessive heat or fire.
In very low temperatures battery output is reduced thereby affecting camera performance. Use fresh batteries for
low temperature picture-taking. Additionally, keep batteries (and camera if practical) inside coat pocket, when not
actually shooting, for best performance in very cold conditions.
E) POWER SWITCH
• Press ON/OFF Switch (2) to turn on camera.
• Frame number and status details will appear on LCD Panel to confirm camera is operational. Flash symbol
"
" will blink while flash is charging (fig 7a) and stops blinking when fully charged. Simultaneously, the
"Wait" Light (10) will glow red while flash is charging and will turn off when fully charged. Shutter will be
inhibited while flash is charging to prevent any wasted shots.
• If powered up camera has not been fired for about 3 minutes the power system will automatically switch off
and the Zoom Lens (7) will fully retract and LCD Panel will become blank. To reactivate the camera, press
ON/OFF Switch again.
• When picture taking is complete it is recommended to switch off the power, which will automatically retract
the lens as well as closing the lens cover. Lens will then be best protected and battery power will be
conserved.
F) LCD PANEL
The LCD Panel (15) shows status of film, frame count, flash charging, and battery as well as appropriate mode
selection. Blinking flash symbol "
flash is fully charged per (fig 7b). Frame number on LCD Panel indicates film is loaded (fig 7c). After picture
has been taken the flash symbol will blink temporarily while flash recharges (fig 7d). The various mode options
shown (per figs 7e,f,g,h) are selected by Mode Button, while figure 7i illustrates self-timer operation selected by
Self-Timer Button.

When last picture on the roll of film has been taken, the camera will automatically rewind the film and the
decrementing frame numbers 39, 38 etc will appear on LCD Panel until "0" is reached (fig 7l).
G) LOADING FILM
Precautions:
• This camera's motorised film transport operates only when there is a film inside and adequately fresh batteries
are installed.
• Use only Advanced Photo System colour negative film.
• Only unexposed film can be used. Film cassette showing " " indicates that film is unexposed (refer to fig 3).
• Do NOT try to open Film Door while film is loaded (but not fully rewound). Frame number in LCD Panel
indicates film is loaded.

Loading film

• Turn camera ON by pressing On/Off switch and observe LCD Panel to check status. Frame counter will
display " - - " to indicate no film is loaded. NOTE: Film may be loaded without turning ON the On/Off switch
but the above step is recommended to check camera battery status before proceeding with film loading.
• Turn the Film Door Lock Switch (19) following arrow indication to "Open" position and swing Film Door (18)
fully open (fig 8).
• Take an unexposed film (indicator must show " " at position "1") and insert completely into the film
compartment (fig 9). Press the Film Door closed and following arrow indication turn the Film Door Lock
Switch to "Close" position.
• The film will automatically advance to the first frame. The frame counter will display the number of frames
remaining on the roll.
• Camera is ready for picture-taking.
" (fig 7j) will appear as reminder to replace depleted battery as soon as possible.
" (fig 7k) warns that power is insufficient for taking any further pictures. The
" per (fig 7a) indicates flash is charging. Symbol will remain steadily when
" (fig 7j) will appear continuously to remind that battery should be replaced as soon as
" (fig 7k) warns that the shutter is inhibited and no more pictures can be taken
