Messages

Messages such as the following may appear on the LCD monitor during camera
operation.
Compression error
No image and sound
Memory full
Memory card error
Card not formatted
Card locked
Data being processed

Camera cannot play this
image and sound
Battery depleted
Image folder could not be
created
Image and sound protected The image or sound you are trying to delete is protected.

Compression of the image you captured has failed. Change the
quality/size and try again.
There are no images/sounds on the SD Memory Card or in the
built-in memory.
The SD Memory Card or the built-in memory is full and no more
images can be saved.
Insert a new SD Memory Card or delete unwanted images. (p.22,
110)
Change the quality/size and try again. (p.124)
Shooting and playback are impossible due to a problem with the
SD Memory Card. You may be able to play back an image or
sound on a PC.
The SD Memory Card you have inserted is unformatted or has
been formatted on a PC or other device and is not compatible with
this camera. (p.138)
The SD Memory Card is write-protected. Only menu operation
and mode change are possible.
The image is being recorded on the SD Memory Card or in the
built-in memory.
The protect setting or DPOF settings is being changed.
The movie is being recorded.
The image is being deleted.
The image is being processed with digital filter.
The movie is being edited.
The SD Memory Card or built-in memory is being formatted.
You are trying to play back an image or sound in a format not
supported by this camera. You may be able to play it back on
another brand of camera or PC.
The battery is exhausted. Recharge the battery or replace with
charged battery. (p.14)
The largest file number has been assigned to an image and no
more images can be saved. Insert a new SD Memory Card or
format the SD Memory Card or built-in memory. (p. 22, 138)
