L While the distress call is being dialled,
your pre-recorded distress message
is also played back from your speaker.
Important:
L You should include the information to
press {1} to accept the call other than
distress request and your name and
address.
Example:
This is distress call from Mary Smith. My
address is "xxxxx". To accept the call,
press {1}.
Recording the distress message

After a beep sounds, hold the
handset about 20 cm away and
speak clearly into the microphone
(20 seconds max.).

Important:
L Distress call feature is automatically
turned off if the distress message is
erased.

Distress Call
L When the distress call feature is
turned on, speed dial key {III}
lights up on all registered
handsets and base unit.
Note:
L If you set the distress call feature to
"On", speed dial cannot be used to
call the number assigned to speed dial
key {III}.
Making a distress call
using speed dial key
{III}
Important:
L You should perform a test run of
the distress call procedure (page
25).
Handset
Press and hold speed dial key {III}.
L To cancel, press {ic}.
Base unit
Press speed dial key {III}.
L To cancel, press {s}.
L If the base unit is stored to the distress
list, the base unit pages all handsets.
Note for handset and base unit:
L Speed dial key {III} flashes rapidly
and your pre-recorded distress
message is played back repeatedly
from your speaker.
L The unit dials out the distress number
list in order (from 1st to 4th number).
L After the other party accepts the call
by pressing {1}, you can start to talk
with the other party.
L You can use the distress call feature
even if the key lock feature is turned
on.
