Messages

The Short Message Service (SMS) enables
to send or receive text messages to or
from other mobile phones. You can
store, edit and forward messages as well
as save any of the numbers they may
contain.
These SMS are stored on the phone
memory; they may also be stored in the
SIM card if they are sent by a service pro-
vider.
Reading a received SMS
message
When the phone receives an SMS mes-
sage a new SMS alert tone sounds and
is displayed. The message is automat-
ically stored in the phone or in the SIM
card. If
flashes, it indicates the SIM or
the phone memory are full and cannot
store any other messages. Delete mes-
sages to allow new messages to be deliv-
ered.

Managing received and
stored SMS messages
After reading the SMS messages from the
Reception box or the SIM card press
Options
to get to: View, Reply, Re-
ply (+text) - to add the original text,
Delete, Delete all, Forward, (Move to
SIM if in the Reception box), Numbers
(to store or call the number(s) contained
in the SMS header or text) and Details.

Moving messages to SIM

It is possible to move a message from the
Reception box or the Outbox to the SIM
memory. However, according to the mes-
sage size, the message may be truncated
(the 160 first characters only are moved
to the SIM memory). The sending date
(for sent messages) and the 'Copy to' ad-
dressees are lost when moving the mes-
sage to the SIM memory.
To move a message to the SIM memory:
