4.4 Adjusting Touch Input Settings

Open the Touch Input settings by doing one of the following:
•
Press and hold / on the QWERTY keyboard, or tap on the Phone
keypad, and then tap Touch Input Chinese.
• On the Home screen, press MENU and then tap Settings > Locale & text >
Touch Input Chinese.
Input method & Keyboard
• Keyboard types Tap to select the keyboard layout to use. You can choose
from QWERTY keyboard or Phone keypad.
• Select Chinese input Tap to select the Chinese input method to use.
See "Selecting a Chinese input method" in this chapter for details.
• Chinese input settings Tap to adjust the settings for the currently selected
Chinese input method.
• English input settings
• Prediction Select to enable the word prediction feature when using the
QWERTY keyboard.
• Spell correction Select to correct typographical errors by selecting from
a list of possible words that reflect the characters of the keys you have
tapped as well as characters of nearby keys.
• Word completion When using the Phone keypad, enabling this
option lets you select from a list of possible combinations based on the
characters that appear on the keys that you tapped.
Other settings
• Sound feedback Select to make a clicking sound whenever you tap a key on
the keyboard or an item on the menu.
• Vibrate when typing Select to enable vibration feedback whenever you tap
a key on the keyboard or an item on the menu.
