6.1

When This Type of Copy is Produced

Symptom
The image is too
light.
The image is too
dark.
EP2030
Possible Cause
The exposure level for the Auto
Exposure Mode is set at one of
the "Light" levels.
The manual exposure level is set
on the lighter side.
You have been making copies
from a photo or an original with a
large dark area.
The Toner has just been
replenished.
The Add Toner Indicator is lit up
on the Control Panel.
The paper is damp.
The exposure level for the Auto
Exposure Mode is set at one of
the "Dark" levels.
The manual exposure level is set
on the darker side.
The entire surface of the Original
Glass is dirty.
The original is not held tightly
against the Original Glass.
Action
Change the setting in the User's
Choice (Exposure Priority),
see page 4-7.
Cancel the Auto Exposure Mode
and select the Manual Exposure
Mode to adjust the exposure
level to obtain a darker image,
see page 3-22.
Press the Exposure Control Key
as necessary to obtain a darker
image, see page 3-22.
The copier needs more toner.
Replenish toner by using the
Toner Replenisher Function,
see page 4-3.
The copier needs more toner.
Replenish toner by using the

Replace the Toner Bottle with a
new one, see page 5-7.
Replace the paper,
see page 5-1.
Change the setting in the User's
