When this Type of Copy is Produced

Symptom
The image is too
light.
The image is too
dark.
EP1085
Possible Cause
The exposure level for the Auto
Exposure Mode is set at one of
the "Light" levels.
The manual exposure level is set
on the lighter side.
You have been making copies
from a photo or an original with a
large dark area.
The Toner Bottle has just been
replaced.
The Add Toner Indicator on the
Monitor Display is lit up.
The paper is damp.
The exposure level for the Auto
Exposure Mode is set at one of
the "Dark" levels.
The manual exposure level is set
on the darker side.
The entire surface of the Original
Glass is dirty.
The original is not held tightly on
the Original Glass.
Action
Change the setting in the User's
Choice Mode U-13 (Default Auto
Exposure Level), see page 4-7.
Cancel the Auto Exposure Mode
and select the Manual Exposure
Mode to adjust the exposure
level and obtain a darker image,
see page 3-16.
Press the Exposure Control Key
(Darker) as necessary to obtain
a darker image, see page 3-16.
The copier needs more toner.
Press the Auxiliary Toner
Replenishing Key as many times
as required to obtain the desired
image density, see page 4-3.
The copier needs more toner.
Press the Auxiliary Toner
Replenishing Key as many times
as required to obtain the desired
image density, see page 4-3.
Replace the Toner Bottle with a
new one, see page 5-2.
Replace the paper,
see page 5-4.
Change the setting in the User's

Wipe the Original Glass clean
with a soft dry cloth,

Place the original in position so
that it is held tightly against the
Original Glass, see page 3-4.
