DIAGNOSIS & TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM
Nothing will operate.
A burner fails to light.
The burner flames are un-
even.
The burner flames lift off the
burner ports, are yellow-
tipped, or are noisy when
turned off.
Cooking does not have the
desired results.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• The cooktop is not wired
to a live circuit with the
proper voltage supply.
• The cooktop is not prop-
erly connected to the gas
supply.
• A household fuse has
blown, or a circuit breaker
has opened.
• A control knob is not set
correctly.
• A household fuse has
blown, or a circuit breaker
has opened.
• The burner is wet from
being washed.
• The burner ports are
clogged.
• The burner ports are
clogged.
• The burner needs to be
cleaned.
• The air/gas mixture is in-
correct.
• The cooktop is not level.
• The pan used is not the
correct type or size.
• The flame size does not fit
the cookware being used.
• The flow of combustion
air and/or ventilation air to
the cooktop is blocked.

SOLUTION
• Wire the cooktop into a
live circuit with the proper
voltage.
• Properly connect the gas
supply to the cooktop.
• Replace the household
fuse or reset the circuit
breaker.
• Push in on the control
knobs before turning
them.
• Replace the household
fuse or reset the circuit
breaker.
• Allow the burner to dry.
• Clean the burner ports
with a straight pin (see
Section 8).
• Clean the burner ports
with a straight pin (see
Section 8).
• Clean the burner (see
Section 8).
• Check the air/gas mixture
(see "Electronic Ignition
System—Initial Lighting"
on page 2-8).
• Level the cooktop.
• Refer to a reliable cook-
book for the recom-
mended pan type and
size.
• The pan should be the
same size, or slightly
larger, than the cooking
area being used.
• Remove any obstructions
around the knobs or burn-
ers.
