When the module has been added to the system, you will see the
Devices screen (Figure 2-13).
This window displays all of the modules connected to the site.
To begin using the 2105Ci module's cellular modem, you must set
up the modem's operation on the Modem screen.
The 2105Ci's digital cellular modem provides a choice of two dif-
f e r e n t c o n n e c t i o n m e t h o d s : S e r i a l O v e r I P ( I P ) o r
Circuit-Switched Data (CSD). The default Contact Connection
Mode is IP; this mode of communication is much faster, and does
not require analog infrastructure.
Note
CSD communication is being phased out by the service pro-
vider, Verizon. As of July 2012, no new CSD lines can be
added, and all CSD service is scheduled to end in 2014.
The default TCP port is 1700, but you can change the port
number if necessary.
