8.5.5 Set the Recording Time of Incoming Message
You can set the maximum length of the recording time of the incoming messages.
1. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select ANS. MACHINE .
2. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select RECORD TIME (Available
options: 60S, 120S, 180S, or UNLIMITED)
4. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select your desired recording time.
5. Press <MENU/OK> to confirm.
8.5.6 Call Screening
When the answering machine is on and takes a call, you can listen to the caller
leaving a message. You can then identify the caller and decide whether to take
the call in person.
The call can be screened at the base and with any handset.
8.5.6.1 Screening at the base
By default, answering machine calls are played automatically through the base
speaker and the volume can be adjusted with the VOL + and VOL - keys on the
base.
If you don't want the caller to be heard when leaving a message, the base
screening can be turned off.
1. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select ANS> MACHINE.
2. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select BS SCREENING.
4. Press <MENU/OK> and <UP/DOWN> to select OFF or ON. (The current
setting will be indicated by a *.)
5. Press <MENU/OK> to confirm the setting.
8.5.6.2 Screening with a handset
If the answering machine is set to ON, when there is an incoming message,
the handset will display "SCREENING?"
1. Press <MENU/OK> to start call screening. Any Handset can listen to who is
leaving the message and decide whether to pick up
2. The handset will display " SCREENING".
3. You can adjust the earpiece volume by pressing <UP or DOWN>. OR
4. Press <C/MUTE> to return to previous screen and you cannot hear the
recording. At any time if you want to pick up the call, you can press <TALK>
and the message recording will be stopped automatically. If the answering
machine is in the process of recording, the message already stored will be
saved.
