navigation Settings

• Voice—sets the language used for
all voice prompts and messages.
• traffic Service—enables the traffic
service.
• Safe Mode—prevents you from
entering data when your vehicle is
in motion.
• Background Data—enables
Garmin Connected Services to
access data in the background.
Changing the navigation Voice
1. From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Navigation > Voice.
2. Select a language.
3. Touch oK.
Turning Off the Traffic Service
1. From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Navigation.

2. Touch the traffic Service check
box to clear it and turn off the
traffic service.
Automobile and Pedestrian
navigation Settings
You can adjust the navigation settings
for Automobile (Driving) and
Pedestrian (Walking) usage modes.
From the Home screen, touch
Settings > Navigation.
• Route Preference—sets the
preference for calculating routes.

• Map Detail—sets the level of
detail on the map. More detail may
result in slower map drawing.
• Map View—sets the perspective of
the Map page.
◦ Track Up displays the map in

two dimensions (2-D) with your
direction of travel at the top.
